Can COVID-19 tests differentiate between COVID-19 and the flu?
Yes, the RT-PCR test offered at Sound Pediatrics uses an assay which tests for SARS-CoV-2 and Influenza A/B individually.
What if I am traveling to the U.S. from a foreign country?
Effective Jan. 26th, 2021, CDC requires all international travelers above the age of 2 traveling or returning to the U.S. to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 3 days before their flight departure or documentation of recovery from COVID-19.
I recently returned to the U.S. and my employer requires that I get tested before I return to work. Can I get tested at Sound Pediatrics?
Yes. We offer RT-PCR testing for travelers who have returned to the U.S. and need testing before returning to work.
Can I get tested if I am currently symptomatic?
Yes. We test both symptomatic and asymptomatic patients. Please let us know if you have symptoms beforehand. Quarantine is recommended for symptomatic patients.
My child is having symptoms. Can they get tested?
Yes, both pediatric patients and parents of patients at Sound Pediatrics may get tested with us. Please book an online consultation with Dr. Dong to determine if your child may need COVID-19 testing.
Does my child need to get pre-travel COVID-19 testing?
This depends on the destination. Please check with the embassy of your destination using one of the links above for age-specific information on pre-travel testing.
Do I need to get tested if I am traveling domestically?

Is the COVID-19 vaccine offered at Sound Pediatrics?
No, currently we do not offer the COVID-19 vaccine.
What should I do if I tested positive?
If you test positive, please do not travel and contact your own Primary Care Provider for further instructions. We recommend following CDC guidelines to quarantine for at least 14 days, wash your hands often, and take care of yourself.
Am I guaranteed to get on my flight if I get tested here?
No, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to board your flight. It is up to you to check the requirements for your specific destination and airline as they are updated frequently and may have changed recently.
